Instead of having trestle tables covered with table cloths I think it would be so cool to have wooden picnic tables for a garden wedding..
If you left them bare, set up with some pretty floral centrepeices and some bright cutlery I think it would love very festive!

When we were little we were read the stories of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie and Little Ragged Blossem..
Classic Australian childrens stories.. first published in 1918.. written and illustrated by May Gibbs.. who is maybe like an Aussie version of Beatrix Potter... All the stories are set in the Australian bush.. complete with characters like Mr Lizard, Mrs Kookaburra and the Big Bad Banksia Men..
Recently a friend of mine had a baby and I went to buy a copy of the book.. I had forgotten how charming the illustrations were..

I think its a nice idea to have big banquet tables set out and the food laid on the tables so guests can just pass things along and help themselves.. It gives them the flexibility to pick and chose like a buffet, without the school canteen vibe. It offers sit down style like table service but without the formality..
It also promotes relaxed interaction as food gets passed around, people help themselves and everyone digs in..
