It's in full swing!

I have to note that since our own wedding earlier this year I have simply loved being a guest at other peoples weddings.

Compared to being the Bride and Groom it's just so easy. And so fun. All you have to do is rock up in your favourite outfit, eat, drink and be merry! No stress or fuss or planning required.

I have been to some gorgeous weddings this spring and summer.

They've all been so different, but all so cool.

Gee that was fast

The veil is here already!

I had it sent to my parents work, because they have a PO Box. That's where I send all my parcels.

It had "Wedding Veil" written on the outside of the box and so Mum and Dad got all excited and dropped it over to my house straight away.

I tried in on for them. (Nobody cried)

It is really lovely. Super plain, very sheer, nice and subtle. The simplest veil on the market. 

But I couldn't really get it to stay in.. Is there a trick to it? 

And once you do get it in, how do you get it out again?

I would only wear it for ceremony but don't want to stuff up my hair when I take it out...?

I can see why people opt to make their own veils. It doesn't look that complicated. But I guess nothing does, when it's done well.

Have been wearing it around the house, doing the robot and the moonwalk, but still on the fence about actually wearing it.

First the white satin shoes and now this.. What on earth happened to cool, edgy, avante garde WestAussie.. she has been eaten by Bridey McBridenstein.

I thought it was something that only happened to other people.

 

Hair Flowers

When I first decided I wanted native flowers, I sent an email around to heaps of different florists trying to suss out what sort of bouquet I could get for a March wedding.

I was becoming disillusioned with replies such as "proteas" or "dried flowers" until I got an email from Sally Philip. She sent me back heaps of ideas and some constructive advice about was and wasn't in season that time of year. When I met with her she showed me lots of creative ideas and showed me that I wasn't limited to a spikey dried up arrangements like the ones gathering dust at Grandmas house.

 But her floral talents are not limited to the alive variety!

She also hand makes beautiful silk flowers to adorn your hair. Nice big beautiful ones!

These images are hypnotic.

You may have seen this girl around but I cant help myself because I love this colourful bride.. not just her bold red hair but the bright flowers she has put in there and of course those gorgeous jewels she is adorned with. The bodice of her wedding dress is a beautiful jewel toned olive green, which is a lovely compliment to her skin and hair.

White is actually a hard colour for most of us to pull off.

The background of your wedding dress is sort of like a blank canvas and so you can accessorise with wild abandon!

Friday 13th

Hello Everyone.. hope you having a good Friday and nothing too spooky is going on.

I've had a productive week on the wedding planning front..

I had my hair and makeup trial with the lovely and talented Thiana Sperry, which went really well, am very excited to have her in charge of making me look good!

Had a meeting with our caterers BBB to discuss the dessert options. They are not only taking care of the food but sorting out the setup of ceremony and reception for us which is cool as I know they are really on board with the vibe we want.

Ordered our wedding rings from Fabuluster! They will be plain white gold bands on the outside with an impression of each others fingerprint on the inside. We are just waiting for our wax fingerprint kit to arrive in the mail.

I ordered my wedding earrings! Yippeee!

And a less fun job we did was finalise our guest list. It involved a couple of tricky decisions and a bit of mucking around but it is done. We'll have 155 invitees and I'd love every single one of them to be there. Nice feeling.

Jeez I love this Bride.

I love her print dress, her awesome headgear and the champers in her hand. She seems like a girl who staying true to her style, you can always pick them a mile away.

Something like this would be decent consolation for not wearing a veil.. (if say, you happened to have your heart set on a dress that maybe did not really suit the veil you wanted..)

I want to wear a veil just because I can.. and this is the sort of veil that I have my heart set on.. this week

  

It's the 'Ginger' veil by Sarah Gabriel.

I haven't got my dress yet, but I'm hoping whatever I end up with will work with a veil like this.

I think a simple dress means you get to go a bit out there with the veil, and I think I'll most likely end up with a pretty simple dress...
