I think a collection of small mis-matched lampshades would made a great feature, maybe for table centrepices or too illuminate a room or pathway

The Mister and I going to be in Melbourne for two whole weeks!!
We are visiting my Sister and he is competing in the Aussie Millions Poker tournament. We might also go and watch some of the tennis. And make the most of all the eating drinking that Melbourne has to offer. But not too much as I have a wedding dress to fit into. And mainly just enjoy not being at work.
But it won't be all play as there are also some wedding jobs to be done! And it's been some time since the Mr and I have had the opportunity to do any wedding stuff together.. or with my sister for that matter who is Bridesmaid.
So here is what we are hoping to cross off the list
-His suit
-His groomsmen's ties and cufflinks.
-Bridesmaid shoes
-My wedding shoes
Our list wil look a lot nicer with those things crossed off it! Will keep you posted on how we go..

Last months come with a free little calander for 2010.
The illustrations are by Amanda Upton and I think they are quite lovely
The two left hand flowers and both Australian Natives.. wattle which is one of my favourites and means "secret love".. so perhaps not the most appropriate wedding flower, if you pay any mind to that kind of thing! I am sad to report that one of the two bushes I planted in my own garden has just mysteriously died.
The Waratah is the illustration on the bottom left, it is native to the south eastern states of Australia (NSW, Vic and Tassie) and symbolises "prosperity"
Cattleya is a type of orchid from Latin America and the meaning for this flower is "mature charm".
Magnolias are native to SE Asia and their meaning is "dignity and nobility"
I love graffiti- the unapologetic use of garish colours!
Makes for great backdrop for wedding photoshoot..

I think there are a few brightly coloured graffti wall in Perth where you can pose for a few photos, in east Perth and at City Farm maybe?
So yes the rest of the country has put their clocks forward, but not Perth this year. boo.
Oh well! This hotel room reminds me that more night sky doesn't have to be a bad thing!

The start of Spring, otherwise known as the end of winter. (hooray)
Time to start my Wedding Diet. (boo)
I'm usually pretty much always on some sort of diet, so the wedding day isn't really getting any special treatment.. but I am hoping that the thought of the honeymoon bikini will give me some extra willpower.
I've got over 6 months to lose 4 kilos, which is harder than it sounds because I'm not prepared to give up going out for dinner or binge drinking. Or Christmas. And this time I don't just want to get skinny I want to get toned as well. Especially my arms. So I'll be exercising hard as well.
I know if I do it slowly and be sensible and healthy about it then it wont feel as traumatic and I am more likely to keep it off. And the last thing I want to be doing is The Soup Diet, the week before the wedding.
This is a gorgeous book published by Sunline Press in Cottesloe. It's a collection of works from emerging West Australian poets.
I borrowed it from the library and it is full of contemporary poetic gems. I don't want to return it.
There are several poems in here I would love to use at our wedding.

Here are some pretty prints. They are all by William Morris, who was an eclectic craftsman and designer from the 19th century. His work was influenced by a love for nature and a respect for craftmanship, who based all his designs on the philosophy 'have nothing in your house you do not know to be useful'

This is a book of short stories, written be a variety of female authors, which celebrates bosoms in all their forms
All royalties from the sale of the book goes to the National Breast Cancer Foundation
But even though this is obviously a very good cause I have to admit I totally judged whis book by its cover.
Something like this would make work well for a wedding invitation (obviously not exactly like this)
I'm talking about the pretty florals, the pink tones, the playful fonts...
