WA Rowing Club

This is an awesome venue.

Its a heritage listed building on Riverside Drive, on Barrack St near the Bell Tower.

Downstairs is where they store the canoes or rowboats, so you walk past those up the stairs to the funtion room which holds has a balcony looking over the river to the South Perth foreshore

It has a great balcony overlooking the Swan River and the interior is been restored beautifully. It has some old photos framed on the walls but they are genuinely quaint, none of the usual sports club tack. Its light and bright and airy.

I think it would probably hold a maximum of about 80 people and I think the catering and alcohol is all organised through the club.

Its a great central location, and I would happily have held our wedding here! We wont be only bcause its a bit small..  But I would love to have a party here down the track.. maybe my 30th.. when the time comes...

Lace Table Runners

These antique table runners would make a nice addition to any table setting!

I think they'd work well at a country style wedding.. with nice wooden chairs and some bright flowers in a simple vase..

Like these simple yet sweet flowers in mis-matched vases....

or perhaps add some romance with these soft pink hydrangeas...

or really get into the country spirit with these sunny daffodils...

or my favourite option of adding an Australian element with some beautiful natives

Fern Bouquet

I love the idea of holding a huge bunch of leaves and foliage and forgoing the flowers altogether.

This image makes me think of a temperate rainforest wedding, with the Bride wrapped up in a cosy shrug, wearing gumboots under her dress, getting married in front of a waterfall. And eating this cake as seen on Polka Dot Bride.

Preppy Groomsmen

Im a bit unsure if Im really liking the preppiness on these groomsmen or not, but its a bit different and therfore worthy of a post. You could maybe cool it up by swapping the white shirts for something with a subtle pattern and maybe losing the tie.. (or would that be making it worse?)
