I like her cardigan, I like the lanterns, I like the lush garden, I like the bridesmaids (or flowers girls?) dresses, I like the way there is a man there holding a bouquet, I like the colourful and unstructured flowers

Makeup inspiration

I'm not very make-up savvy.

Mascara is about the only thing I use with any confidence. And Blistex.

I'll be leaving my cosmetics to professionals on my wedding day.

I'm not down with the make-up lingo so dont even know how to describe what I want. (ummm.. make me look hot, but in a natural yet dramatic and timeless way please)

A picture speaks a thousand words so have started collecting pictures of women who's make up I would like to emulate on my wedding day.

Here is my first one.  

The girl from the Veronika Maine advertisements. I not only love her make up but also digging her hair... (although perhaps I'd ease off on the trendils).. but really like that loose, relaxed style pulled back low at the nape of her neck.. As for her makeup, whatever it is it looks good.

Instead of having trestle tables covered with table cloths I think it would  be so cool to have wooden picnic tables for a garden wedding..

   

If you left them bare, set up with some pretty floral centrepeices and some bright cutlery I think it would love very festive!

It's hot outside and I wish it were Autumn.

So I could sit in a pile of leaves looking this gorgeous.

Jewel Cake

OMG I love this cake!

It reminds me of this 'treasure box' I used to have when I was a kid. Which was basically a tissue box covered in cellophane, which I used to put my treasure.. like feathers, sequins, beads, ribbons, buttons, any random bits and bobs I found.. sort of like the 'jewels' stuck to this cake.

I have started thinking about PHOTOGRAPHY

This is up there on our priorities list. We want good photos. Some good candid photos, some artistic ones, nothing too posed or cliched..

We are going to buck the post-ceremony photoshoot trend. No popping into East Perth for that bridge shot, no driving down the road for the blue boatshed shot, no photos on St Georges Tce, no photos out the front of Tiffany's. Don't get me wrong these can be good shots .. but leaving our wedding to go and have wedding photos makes no sense to me. 

I only want photos of us actually at our wedding.

I have been thinking that we take some artistic photos at various locations during a pre engagement shoot, (or maybe a trash-the-dress dramatic photos shoot afterwards)... but on the day I just want to be at our wedding.. like, the whole time.

I prefer fairly natural shots, rather than the obviously posed variety.. (like the bride sitting at grooms feet.. or bridesmaids peeking out from behind a tree.. or groomsmen doing the blues brothers thing...)

Anyway so with that in mind time to start looking around

wanting what you already have

With the dire state of the economy I thought it might be healthy to occasionally shift my focus from stuff I want to appreciating some of the great things I already own.. just for a change.

Here are some of purses which I have found at op shops and markets or been given along the years.

 

 

 

 

Not that I would see any use for a purse on my wedding day..

especially not if I end up wearing a dress with pockets
