Often after I tell people Im going to wear flat shoes for my wedding they look a bit disappointed
They want to know if The Mister is short. (he's tall) They want to know if it's a beach wedding (it's in the bush) They want to know why dont I just bring some flats to change into later on. (because then my dress will be the wrong length)
Even though I like the way I look in heels, I like the way I feel in flats even better.. just more chilled out and comfortable. And I want to feel like that for my ceremony as well.
And we are in the Perth Hills- which is really gravelly.. lateritic pisoliths scatter the ground like a carpet of marbles. I think it would be madness to wear heels.
But I dont think flats are disappointing. Just look how glamorous they can be:
Ok well I'm not sure if Nicole looks glamorous per se but I still like her shoes.
Flats obviously won't work for every style of dress but for a cool floaty sort of number I think they work well.
I really don't like anything about Keira Knightly but I have resisted the temptation to crop out her head..
I think this could make a great wedding ensemble..
Deep down I would love to wear a huge tulle skirt.. It would be dramatic. It would be glamorous. But in Realityland I am deterred for the same reasons. The big skirt is usually accompanied by a stiff satin bodice, an overload of beads or diamantees, and a tiara. Its over the top, its too formal, its way too poofy, its too bridal.
Yet! I feel that the cute ladylike cardigan totally offsets the stuffiness of the big skirt, it tones it down and gives it a playful edge. Its not taking itself too seriously it adds cuteness and comfort to what would otherwise be an over-the-top outfit.
Princess Mary had a few eycalyptus leaves in her boquet, which was a nice touch. Thats them sticking out the top. I think it looks nice, although I would like to see some pictures of a bouquet made completely from natives..
I am not really a fan of Katie Holmes.. and I am definitely not a fan of Tom Cruise (which is why I have cropped him out- but Suri is cute so she can stay)
However I am a fan of those beautiful sapphire and diamond earrings he bought her as a gift on her wedding day. She has been seeing wearing them out and about and I think they work well for both formal and everyday wear..
